Primary schools in East Sussex

The county also has a great selection of schools to entice you in, with top choices for younger children including Roselands Infants’ School in Eastbourne and Hastings’ Ark Blacklands Primary and Robsack Wood Primary. All of these schools are classed as outstanding by Ofsted, along with St Peter and St Paul CofE in Bexhill. 

Secondary schools in East Sussex

Kids in that area can continue their education at St Richard’s Catholic College, which is also outstanding. The same applies to Seaford Head School and High Cliff Academy in Peacehaven, while Eastbourne’s Ratton School and Gildredge House are also good options at secondary level. 

Education in Brighton

If you live in Brighton, a good progression is for children to start at St Luke’s Primary or Queen’s Park Primary before moving on to Varndean School or Dorothy Stringer School. 

How are the East Sussex transport links?

There are excellent transport links across the county, including strong bus and rail links. Trains from Brighton to London, for example, take around an hour, while it’s half that to Gatwick Airport. There aren’t any motorways in East Sussex, which preserves the peaceful nature of the region, with a network of A roads best for getting around if you have a car. There are also community transport schemes available for people who can’t access regular public transport services. 

What is the East Sussex property scene like?

Hotspots such as Brighton mean property prices in East Sussex are much higher than the national average, while growth has also far outstripped the rest of the country in recent years. This is in part thanks to stunning homes close to the seaside in places like Bexhill, where you can find beautiful 4 and 5 bedroom family homes off Barnhorn Road.
