Experience the history of the city by visiting Edinburgh Castle. The ruins sit high above Princes Street Gardens and visitors can enjoy views from its great height. Highlights include the Crown Jewels and Stone of Destiny, while costumed and performance events regularly take place.

Great for shopping, Princes Street is the place to head if you’re looking for high street brands, while Multrees Walk has high-end retailers.  If you want Scottish goods, the Royal Mile provides a variety of traditional items such as tartan and whiskey.

For those travelling by train, Dalmeny Station is just a 10 minute walk from South Queensferry town centre. Edinburgh can be reached in 19 minutes from here, Glasgow in one hour and 17 minutes and Newcastle in two hours and four minutes.
