    There are lots of good schools across the Isle of Wight, with the highest concentration being in more populated places like Cowes and Newport. Nine Acres Primary, Barton Primary and Newport CofE are all good options in the latter, according to Ofsted, and Cowes Primary Gurnard Primary and Lanesend Primary in the former. Cowes Enterprise College, Ryde Academy and Newport’s Isle of Wight College are among the best options for older children and all are classed as good by Ofsted. 

    Transport links on the Isle of Wight

     

    The Isle of Wight largely relies on buses for its public transport connections. This is mainly because there aren’t many train services, although there are a couple of lines which operate. However, catching the bus can still be very convenient due to the small size of the island, which is served by a relatively comprehensive network of A and B roads. If you want to get back to the mainland, regular ferries across the Solent are available from East Cowes, Fishbourne and Ryde.
