It was built in 1066 by Robert, Count of Mortain, to control a key route between London and the Midlands. Today, this Norman motte-and-bailey castle can be visited inside, along with its magnificent gardens.

Lee Valley White Water Centre

De Havilland Aircraft Museum

If you have a passion for aviation, you can't miss De Havilland Aircraft Museum. Situated in London Colney, this fascinating gallery is the oldest in the UK and pays tribute to de Havilland Aircraft. It contributed to Britain's history of aircraft development during the 20th century by devising the Moth biplane, Fox Moth and WWII Mosquito multirole aeroplane, among many others.
